TweetyJobs has tons of ways for you to search, connect, and move your career forward. About 50% of jobseekers find work through a connection. TweetyJobs helps these conversations happen. Whether you are happily employed or actively looking, TweetyJobs has something for you.

Below is a brief explanation of the major features of the site, privacy settings, and some tricks.

Creating your TweetyJobs jobseeker account

Creating a TweetyJobs account is a simple process that takes about 2 Minutes! Once your account is created you will have a complete profile and begin receiving The only thing you need is a resume or LinkedIn account!

To create your TweetyJobs account, click the blue button on the top right hand corner of the TweetyJobs home page. Choose the 'Find a Job' option and either upload your resume or connect using LinkedIn. This information is then parsed and used to create your account, generate a tailored job agent, and create a complete Career Profile. Sometimes a takes a few seconds. We hope enjoy the birds while you wait.

Once your account has been created we will ask you to confirm your email address, location, and password. We also ask you to rate skills we have extracted from your resume.

Editing your resume

To edit your resume and profile, login, select "my profile (toolbar), and click "my resume" in the dropdown. You will be taken to your resume. From there you will see a pencil and "edit" next to each position. Click the pencil and you can edit employment dates, summary, city, etc. Its important to be as detailed as possible. To add a position, click “Add New Employer” next to “employment history”. On your resume be sure to add and rate skills. This information is used by recruiters to find the right candidate skills. It also used for job matching.

Adding a person to your network

Adding a person to your network will allow you to receive updates on their Career Activity. Simply click “add to network” on user’s profile, on search pages, and throughout the site. Then visit your dashboard to see what they have been up to. Its best to add people that can help you advance your career or land your next position.

Search Agents

TweetyJobs allows you to create customized, automated searches that will deliver jobs instantly to you as they come in. We call them Search Agents. Think of a Search Agent as a friendly little fellow who is constantly searching and sending you updates. You can create agents with our without a TweetyJobs account.

Keep in mind, Jobseekers who have an account with TweetyJobs have the ability to create multiple agents, as well as run live searches on agents, name them, and overall have better delivery choices on how you'd like your agent results delivered.

Creating a Search Agent from the search page

The easiest way to create a Job Agent is on the search page. After logging in, simply run a search for a position that interests you. Click the button at the top right hand side that says 'Save this as a Search Agent'. All done! Wasn’t that easy?

Creating a Search Agent from Twitter

You can create a Job Agent with or without an account. Simply tweet @tweetyjobs What +City, State #agent. You will get results sent to your Twitter account shortly after.

Here's some examples:
@tweetyjobs Project Manager+Philadelphia, PA #agent
or
@tweetyjobs Nursing and critical care+Chicago, IL #agent
Note that City and State is optional, but recommended if you don't want to get tons of jobs from all over the US.

Stopping a Search Agent created from Twitter

Once we receive your Job agent, we'll respond with an agent ID. To stop the agent simply tweet @tweetyjobs Agent-ID-number #stop. Like magic, Search Agent stopped.

Change your Privacy Settings

Your account privacy settings are found at Settings > Privacy.

Display Public Profile

This is the default setting. When you sign up, your profile will be indexed by search engines and viewable to all site visitors.

If you wish to hide your account from public view and search engines, simply uncheck the "Display Public Profile" box and click "Save Settings". If a site visitor lands on your profile, the will see a message that reads "The profile requested is not publicly viewable". Logged in Recruiters can still see your full profile. If you have indicated interest in a position your profile will still be available to Recruiters.

Contact Information

Your contact information is not public my default. To make your contact information (email, phone, address) publicly available check the "Display Contact Information in Public Profile" box and click "Save Settings". Your contact information will not appear. Please note: Recruiters will not see this information either.

Activity

As you active throughout the site, user who follow you and public users will see your activity. This allows you more visibility and great opportunity to connect. To only allow people who have added you to their network see your activity select “Only friends can see my activity”.

Hibernating your account

At any time, you can stop all agents, activity logs, and site updates by hibernating your account. We call it “Stealth Mode”.

Your account will remain active and all your account information will remain. However, your account will not be viewable by any site user and not be indexed by search engines. This is the best option for people who want to use the site but are trying to remain undercover.

Deleting your account

Deleting your account will remove your account from our records, stop your account from being indexed, and stop all site correspondence.
